The Vampire Cup is the annual blood donation drive for the Australian Medical Students’ Association and Townsville is going strong in the 2019 comp!
In 2019, the competition is running over eight weeks from April 6th to May 31st with each whole blood, plasma or platelet donation counting as 1 point to your local university tally.
The purpose of hosting the Vampire Cup, is to increase blood donations while emphasising the importance of blood donation in the community and currently, 1 in 3 people will need blood during their lifetime but only 1 in 30 donate.
