The relentless online attacks and even death threats for our Cowboy Josh ‘Moose’ McGuire are sparking action from the NRL.

The league and all club bosses have discussed the matter and are in agreeance that they need to take steps to protect players.

The action following McGuire seeking professional help after the barrage at the weekend, with his 3-game ban.

Josh’s wife Tanyssa has posted on Instagram to stand alongside her husband during the attacks.

“Mental health is constantly being spoken about within the NRL and yet what I am witnessing is the absolute bashing of a man who can only take so much before that thick skins starts to soften.”

At time of publication Josh's Instagram account was disabled.

Meanwhile Roosters star player Latrell Mitchell has taken leave after racial abuse online.

On Wednesday night the 22-year-old posted on Instagram his disgust with the behaviour.

"There is no place for racism it is 2019 I am a proud aboriginal man an I will continue to name a shame anyone that has an opinion against me or my race.
I have had enough we cannot keep allowing this “Casualness” to happen.
Wake up Australia an stop being ignorant and just embrace everyone for who they are!!"
