Police Find Human Remains Believed To Be ‘Seinfeld’ Actor Charles Levin

Police in the US have discovered human remains in Southern Oregon which are believed to be those of Charles Levin, the actor who appeared in notable TV shows like Alice, Hill Street Blues, Seinfeld, Golden Girls and NYPD Blue.

On July 8, Levin was reported missing by his son who hadn’t heard from his father in several days.

After searching for the actor over the last week, an emergency phone ping led authorities to a remote part of Oregon. During a search and rescue operation, Levin’s car was spotted by a resident “in a very remote and almost impassible road.”

Levin was not in his vehicle, however his pug, Boo Bear, was found deceased inside. A grid search was then conducted, where after several hours, human remains were found.

The Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety wrote in a statement:

“Assisted by the responding Troopers, personnel conducted a grid search of the very steep and rugged terrain.  After several hours of searching, human remains were located.  Based on  the circumstances, there is a high probability that the remains are those of Charles Levin.  The final identification of the remains will be completed by the Medical Examiner.”

Although police believe the remains are most likely those of the 70-year-old actor, final identification of the remains still needs to be carried out by the Medical Examiner. 

Levin is most famous for his scene-stealing roles as the mohel on 'The Bris' episode of Seinfeld and Coco, the gay cook, on the pilot episode of Golden Girls.
