Multiple Crashes Prompt Road Safety Warning
Both within 24 hours of each other
Esperance Police are pleading with motorists to drive to the conditions, which follows two crashes on the same stretch of road within less than 24 hours of each other.
The first incident occurred on the morning of Monday, April 29 when two vehicles collided on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway.
It's believed two young female tourists were travelling north on the highway behind a road train in a Falcon Sedan when the driver attempted to overtake, and collided with a Falcon Wagon.
The second occurred early on the morning of Tuesday, April 30 where a driver left the road on Coolgardie-Esperance Highway near Stearne Road and struck a tree. Luckily all occupants sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Both incidents provide a timely reminder for motorists to drive to the conditions, especially as winter approaches.
Inquiries are continuing into both incidents.
