Mildura Police are continuing to crack down on thefts around shopping centers, a 24 year old arrested.

Officers have charged the Mildura man in relation to two thefts, police now calling for shoppers to avoid leaving valuables in shopping trolleys.

In the past six weeks there have been six reports of thefts from shopping trolleys within the Mildura area.

These have all taken place while the victims were in the parking lot or still shopping.

Opportunistic thieves have been reported for taking personal items, like handbags, purses and mobile phones from trolleys without the victim's knowledge.

Police are now calling for shoppers to be aware of their surroundings, and keep their valuables on their person.

Anyone who sees a theft from a shopping trolley is urged to report it to Mildura Police Station on 5018 5300, or to Crime Stoppers.
