A new case of measles has been confirmed in Victoria and the sufferer was infectious while at Highpoint Shopping Centre earlier this month.

The girl, who has recently returned from overseas, visited the shopping centre on Sunday August 28.

There’s been 32 cases of measles confirmed in Victoria this year – and almost all of the cases were in people who has not been fully immunised. Most had either recently returned from overseas travel or has contact with someone who had.

Authorities warn anyone who is presenting symptoms – which includes a rash, fever and conjunctivitis to visit their doctor. Measles is highly infectious.

People are also encouraged to check their vaccination record to ensure they have received two doses of the vaccine.
