Residents Ask - "What's That Stench?!"

Decomposing Mangrove fruit - and not leaking sewerage - is the reason for the STRONG PONG in parts of the Tweed.

Residents around Cobaki Lakes, The Anchorage and Oxley Cove have reported smelling "rotten egg" gas to Tweed Shire Council, thinking it was a wastewater issue.

The smell will eventually go away.
