Local much-loved pig, Grunt has been banned by the City Council from walking the streets of Wangaratta.

Much to the distaste of locals, a breach notice was served to Grunt's owner Matthew Evans, claiming the pig is interfering with the enjoyment of other Wangaratta locals.

Not only was Matthew issued a breach notice, but he was also threatened with a hefty fine of $806 if he continues to walk Grunt through council owned streets.

Matthew posted the breach notice on his "Grunt The Pig" Facebook page and has received an overwhelming response with locals pledging their support to the friendly pet pig.

Tim and Jess managed to get both Matthew and the popular porky himself on the phone, to chat about the incident and to find out if the Mayor played a part in the walking ban.
