Five people have been injured after a 4WD rolled on Hansons Road in Tumbi Umbi overnight.

Just before 6.30pm a Toyota Prado left the road, hit a tree stump & flipped.

Three 19 year old men were thrown from the back of the vehicle, with one suffering a fractured femur. Another suffered suspected spinal injuries and has since undergone surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital. 

The third back-seat passenger suffered shoulder and rib injuries, while a 22-year-old man, travelling in the front seat, suffered neck and head injuries. Both were taken to Gosford Hospital.

The 19 year old male driver was also taken to Gosford Hospital as a precaution and to undergo mandatory tests.

Tuggerah Lakes Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
