The Bureau of Meteorology have officially issued their cyclone warning for Tropical Cyclone Oma, and the dangerous conditions could reach as far south as Ballina at this stage.

Oma is expected to move slowly southwest during the next couple of days, bringing it closer to the southeast Queensland coast on Friday.

Oma's motion becomes slow moving and more uncertain over the weekend, possibly taking a more northwest track off the Queensland coast.

Even if it does not make landfall, dangerous surf, abnormally high tides, beach erosion, gales, and heavy rainfall still pose a risk from Queensland's Capricornia Coast down to Ballina.

A Gale Warning has been issued for the Coffs Coast for tomorrow (Friday the 22nd of February).
