Australia Is Facing A Blood Shortage!

Australians need YOUR help!

This morning, Tim and Jess spoke to Nicky Breen from Red Cross who told the team that blood supply in Australia is extremely low, more specifically, the o-negative blood type. 

O-negative is extraordinarily rare and only nine percent of the population share the blood type. O-negative is universal and can be used on any patient, if the medical staff aren't sure of the patients blood type. 

Unfortunately, flu season has hit which has left many regular blood donors out of action until their symptoms subside. Red Cross are pushing for 5000 Australians to donate blood over the next fortnight to help boost Australian supplies.
