Reduced visibility in heavy showers, and gusty winds resulting in debris over the roads, will make driving conditions dangerous late this afternoon and this evening in the Adelaide Area.

The SA Police advises that people should:

Slow down and take extra care.

Maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front.

Turn on your headlights.

In a warning issued earlier today, the Bureau also wrote:

One of the strongest cold fronts so far this winter will sweep across South Australia this afternoon and evening. The front will bring damaging winds, squally showers and thunderstorms to much of the southern half of the State

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;

* Secure or put away loose items around your property.

* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
